1 reason the vinyl experience is better

The 1 thing you probably don't know about vinyl

Listening to music should be all about the experience.  So next time try something new.  Stay with me on this, as it takes some practice and a little investment of time, effort and maybe on your part.  Often, listening to music can be relaxing but most people just listen on the surface.  Meaning they hear the music.  For most synthetically created music today, the music, how it is created and how it is recorded creates limitations to going any further than just listening to it.  The experience is good, but not exceptional.

In the end, don't we all seek exceptional experiences?

Enter vinyl.  Often, audiophiles will call digitally created and mastered music 'cold'.  When we capture that sound in a way that represents all the possible frequencies, we’re recording in analog; when we use computers to translate the sound into a series of numbers that approximate what we’re hearing, we’re recording in digital.  Analog recordings are often thought to be richer and warmer.

Analog music, relaxation and brainwaves

When relaxing into a state where your brain waves begin to shift from Beta waves (12–35 Hz), which we all put out when awake down into Alpha brain waves (12–35 Hz).  Here, you find yourself relaxed with passive attention.  Think day dreaming or being zoned out.  Often when in Alpha state you are still just listening to music.

However, when you are deeply relaxed you enter the Theta state (4–8 Hz) and that is where you begin to experience the music.  Theta is where hypnosis occurs.  This is where your conscious brain lets go.  The challenge is that to get to Theta you have to go Alpha. In Alpha the conscious mind wants to keep reminding you it's there by well, thinking.

And when thinking, you can listen to but cannot fully experience music.

Enter Shift Delta 8.  With Dark Chocolate.  And Black Lava Sea Salt.

Dark Chocolate with Icelandic Black Lava Sea Salt.  Even without Delta 8 it sounds, well...decadent. As a reminder, unlike wine, whisky, beer, vodka or any other evening go-to alcoholic beverage, dark chocolate is good for you.  So what is with Black Lava Sea Salt?  Is that a marketing thing?  No.  The health benefits of Black Lava Sea Salt are very real.

Better ingredients matter to a better Delta 8 experience

Thirty minutes after enjoying Shift Delta 8 Edibles, my wife and I settled into a late evening relaxation session.  I chose to spin an album from Eric Clapton from 1974.  The song I settled into was 'Let it Grow' and I slowly went down the rabbit hole as the Shift Edibles took hold and I moved through Alpha to Theta brain waves.

Let the trip begin.

Experiencing Music is Different.

I slipped from listening to the music to experiencing it.  This is hard to explain.  Reality slips.  The music becomes almost three-dimensional, the analog warmth enveloping you.  The depth of the music seems limitless.  You hear things you've never heard before.  You jump time.  With your eyes closed, you see the colors of the music and emotion of the musicians.  It's amazing and transcendental.   Do it once and you are hooked.  You will want more.

Can you do this with ear buds, Spotify and a good glass of bourbon or wine?  My opinion is no.  First, alcohol doesn't help you move into Theta.  It keeps it at bay.  Delta 8, a derivative of hemp, has a different chemical reaction in the brain.

Second, to really experience music, you need to go back in time.  A good 1970's Marantz Amp, a modern direct drive turn table and a pair of 1974 Cerwin Vega speakers and you are in business.  Be warned, this is not a garage sale investment.  While the equipment is old, it costs upwards of 50x more than it did new.  But then again, what is your health and well-being worth?

Once you truly experience music, it is a trip.  With Shift Delta 8 Edibles, it is truly memorable experience and one that is repeatable as well as good for you.  Regardless of your equipment, try it.  If you like it, stay with the edibles, visit your local record shop and swap meets to find vintage equipment.  You will not be disappointed.
